I’m not exactly sure when I started making our soap, but I think it was after I ran out of my Aesop body wash that I had received for my birthday about 5 years ago. I loved it so much and it made my showers infinitely better, but it also made me curious about the ingredients in the soap the rest of my family was using. I prefer to use clean ingredients in everything I use, but I don’t stress about it. I found this soap base that got great reviews and seemed clean enough to me based on the ingredients, and then added the scents I loved. Neroli is one of my favorite essential oils so I tend to use it in all of the soaps I make, and then I add bergamot in the spring/summer and cedarwood in the fall/winter. We love the way they smell, feel, clean our bodies, and the circular shape fits perfectly in the palm of your hand.

Instructions
The soap base comes in 2 squares. I melt one square in a pint-size, glass pyrex in the microwave for 2 minutes, stir, and then microwave another minute. You want the soap to be completely dissolved.
Once my soap is melted, I add about 20-30 drops of my essential oils. I like 30 drops of my favorite scent, and 20 drops of the secondary scent. Stir to combine and bring the spoon up to your nose to see if you like the combination. If not, add more of the scent you prefer, but the scent will improve as the soap cools and hardens.
Pour your soap immediately after stirring into the soap molds. Let them cool for 2-3 hours at room temperature until they harden completely. When they are done, remove from the molds and enjoy!
